I grew up in a place called Regina, which is even more fun to say. It’s a super-small town. It was 150,000 people when I lived there. Not a lot to do, but because of that there was a large forceful art thing that blossomed out of the nothingness. The sky goes on forever and there’s a huge amount of space. There is something creative in that silence, that distance where you can kind of look off and you don’t see a thousand buildings. There’s not a whole bunch of clutter in your way. It’s made me appreciate everywhere else. I want that inundated, over-stimulated city thing now.
